"You're not sure that you love me.." It wasn't like she'd intended to run across this kind of information. It just happened.. And not only did it 'just happen', but it plum ruined her day... Pissed her smooth off. She didn't know what to make of herself and life anymore.. It was trashed.. Damn Kendall and his stupdity.. damn her for trusting him so much.. It was hopeless, the relationship, from the beginning, and despite her knowledge of this, she couldn't just let it go... Noooo... she had to fall in love with the dumbass... but was it really love, or just the desire to have someone to claim as yours? She wasn't sure anymore... but she knew it was that way on his side..
It was just a possession thing.. He wanted to own her... Bastard.
She'd destroyed her room in her rage, throwing her phone while she was at it.. Now she was sobbing, scooping up the shatter peices in the corner, not sure what to make of her new found emoition. Okay, so she didn't get sad alot... nor angry... But he had just.. god.. she blew up. He'd been on the phone with her, claiming the female voice in the background was his cousin... But she met his cousins... it didn't sound like Teresa... Then he spoke to the girl, and not in a "hey we're related" kinda way...
It was almost... romantic? Well it wasn't the word she'd used for cheating earlier..
She winced when the glass from her Blackberry stabbed into her flesh, the nerve filled tip of her finger suddenly gushing.. "God.. d...dammit!" Standing she threw what she'd gathered into her trashcan, ignoring the question in the back of her head whether she still had a shred of sanity left or not, and then ran her finger under the cool water, reaching for the first aid kit under the sink... She found it after a moment, and stared at herself in the mirror, the throbbing of her finger suddenly not interesting.
She looked like shit, to be blunt... Her perfected makeup talents looked like something a clown would don... Her mascara and eyeliner had streaked, leaving her face a big, blotted mess of smear... It didn't even look like a girl had done it, but something in the form of art of a child, 6 and under. She was shocked at her rampid emotions so much, her eyes flooded again... Quickly dressing her finger, she turned off the water, and dried her hand, careful with the new sensative, burning wound.. Reaching for the tissues, she went to mop of the mess she knew was her face...
20 minutes later, she'd finished her new makeup, though still highly pissed but past crying, and nodded at her work in the mirror over her vanity. "Okay, pull your ass together, Carson.." She nodded slowly, blinking her eyes to make sure her mascara was set, and then fanned her face just incase... Then when it was, she slicked on some gloss, and headed out the door.. It was time to fix this heart ache, starting with a smoothie from the student center...
She charged across the grass like a linebacker on a football field, the dim lights ahead of her signaling she'd spent a lot of time trashing her room. She prayed her roommate didn't come back before she could fix it. Sighing softly as she entered the student center, she stopped at the counter, and quickly decided she wanted a strawberry shake, not a smoothie... It was a girls best remedy, icecream...
Of course, she'd not expected to turn and run into someone after ordering...

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! So maybe senior year wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Ok so he was popular. Great. He was wicked attractive. Even better. He had every girl running after him. Worse thing that could ever possibly happen to him. Dallas took a deep breath and sat up in his bed running a hand through his short hair. Getting out of his warm hiding place, he grabbed a t-shirt and threw it over his muscled chest, his tattoo only evident slightly under his sleeve. Keeping his track shorts on, he slipped on his running shoes and grabbed his duffle. Maybe he'd go for a run. Or something productive to get his mind off of everything wrong that was happening. And then that all too familiar rumble came to his stomach. Sighing, he walked slowly towards the student center. There had to be something edible in the place. Feeling the air conditioner, he shiverd as the cool air rushed up his spine. Finding a table towards the corner, he dropped his bag and took a seat for a moment just trying to figure out what he wanted...or if he wanted anything at all. Closing his eyes for a moment, he stood back up and looked over as a couple of his team mates hollered at him. He gave a polite smile but really didn't feel like talking. Giving a wave, he kept on walking. Reaching the counter, he smiled dully at the girl behind the counter. He wasn't really in the mood to flirt with a random girl. Besides, he barely knew her. Ordering an orange banana smoothie, he waited by the pick up counter. After giving the girl the money and might he say, a quite generous tip of 3 dollars, he took his drink and turned to go back to his table. But as he turned and began to walk, a small figure bumped into him. He looked down and saw that it was a girl in his grade. Carson was it? And then he noticed that she had been crying. " You know...little ladies like you shouldn't be crying on nice days like this..." He said giving her a small smile. He grabbed a napkin and handed it too her to wipe her eyes. He heard his teammates shoot whistles his way. He mumbled something crude and shot them a dirty look. How could he be even liking her? They were crazy. He just met her!

"But you're not sure enough to let me go.." It wasn't but like two seconds after she had her drink in her hand and paid that she was looking up into the most beautiful chocolate eyes in the world. But she didn't think about that for a moment, because she was too busy richochetting from his chest... God he was built... solid as a rock. Unlike the cheater, who shall remain nameless, who was as soft as sand... She managed to take a few steps back to steady herself, and kept a good grip on her shake, only squeezing it slightly in her backlash. She finally got steady, and he was sweet-talking her.. So okay.. maybe that's an overstatement.. he was being nice... but she didn't want him to be at the moment.. She wanted to have every guy in existence for what Ken-cheater had done to her..
"I... I ... I wasn't.. cry- crying.." She began, trying to cover her lie with a constant sentence, and instead, stuttered all over the words.. "God.. okay.. so I was.. but who cares.." Taking the napkin from him, she dabbed under her eyes again, making sure her newly done makeup hadn't been destroyed, and smiled. Nope.. she'd used waterproof this time. She hadn't even noticed she'd shed a few more tears! Making sure she was clear of mistakes, she looked back up at him for merely a second, too shy to look for a long time..
"Thanks.."
Winding her way past him, and sending a death glare to the jocks doing catcalls at apparently.. well her and this boy... who was familiar to her memory of classmates, and then found a chair and sat down. She tossed him another look, though not as disdainfully as the one she'd given his teammates, and then inhaled deeply, shaking cheater from her thoughts.. This new boy... he was something to look at... Taller then some guys, but not the tallest. Short black hair, which looked incredibly soft and well kept for a guy, but just enough that you could grab it if need be.. He wore nice clothes, and not anything too baggy. Stuff that fit...
She hated guys who wore baggy stuff unless they were gym clothes...
Very clean cut... his face was angelic almost.. and he had a great tan... or maybe it was natural? She didn't know. She traced his jawline, smiling inwardly at his features... Those eyes though.. stabbed her through the heart a million times and over... they were gorgeous... and then.. she noticed his body. He was flat on his stomach, though through his shirt you could see faint outlines of each ab seperately... Good god.. and his arms were like.. cannons of sexy.. She liked it.. The long vein flowed down his arm like any good testosterone driven young man's should.. She followed down his legs.. - he had a nice ass - and then his thighs.. Strong.. She avoided the area between on purpose, blushing as she did...
What was he? Descendent of Zeus.. Hercules? Good god.. was it suddenly hot in here?
Pulling her jacked from her arms, she slipped it over the back of the chair, and reached for her shake, fixing the lid that had been popped off during her run in with this hunk of perfection... She had to know his name at least.. All she could do was pray that he came back over, to console her again.. Should she start crying? No... that was too desperate.. Maybe he'd just walk back by again.. and she'd catch him.. You know.. like.. say.. "HEY!" and then when he looked, say a polite, but shy thank you again for the napkin and kind words.. I didn't get your name.." kinda thing.. Yeah..
That would totally work.. She felt like a school girl, crushing on the new guy..

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! As he passed her, he felt something. Something different. He didn't want her to walk away. But really he was too shy to even walk back over to her. Shaking his head, he picked up his orange banana smoothie once more and walked back to his table in the other direction. Sitting down in his little lonely corner, he took a sip of his smoothie and pulled out his iPod. Slipping the earbud in, he began listening to his favorite song of the week, I Only See You, by Benton Paul. As the song continued, he couldn't help but look back up at the mystery girl that had bumped into him. She was dazing off, so he go to really look at her. Her hair was slightly tossed, probably due to her little crying fiasco. Though he wasn't sure what that was about. And her eyes were quite captivating. A soft hue that could capture anyone. But what he liked was the fact that she was shy as well. It meant that maybe he wouldn't need to be as held in as he normally was, because she was the same way. Alright so he wasn't the best at trusting people. But what could be wrong with trusting her? She was just an innocent girl with a problem going on. Now of course there was always the chance she would just pull him in and he'd regret ever coming to the student center. But she didn't seem like that kind of girl. Hey he could be wrong...who knew until he talked to her. Pulling the earbud from his ear, he shoved the iPod back into his track bag and slung it over his shoulder. Picking up his smoothie, he took another sip and continued walking back towards where he came from. He kept his eyes on the ground. Looking up as he reached the counter, he saw her again, this time he was even a bit afraid to keep walking. Taking a deep breath, he continued walking and reached her table. Dropping his bag, he sat down across from her. "I'm Dallas..."

"Baby it ain't fair, you know, just to keep me hangin' round.." He almost threw her into a fit when he just suddenly appeared out of no where.. she'd spent the last few seconds trying to seem like she was ignoring him, and worrying her about her other problem, that she'd actually had started to worry about the previous situation, and forgot aobut him.. In result, when he'd just out of the blue spoke to her, she nearly fell out of her chair.. Gripping the sides of the chair beneath her, she looked at him, wide eyed, and then smiled... Well it was a faster result then she'd thought... But at least he was here..
Now she could focus on something better than cheater...
"Oh... hi Dallas... I'm.. Uh... Carson.." She finally spit her words out, and then she relaxed. She really needed to get her priorities straight. She didn't usually have problems with guys a few years ago.. and then for some reason she hooked up with one of the worst, and now she was paying for it.. But maybe this was a lesson from god? He'd proved his point, and now he was sending her this new guy to change her mind. He seemed like a nice one, though she was only judging about the exterior... She'd not learned much about him yet... From what she could tell of his personality, he was shy.
That was okay.. She liked shy.. She was kinda shy to, but not as much as she used to be. She used to be the girl everyone picked on and beat up on the playground.. She'd go home with bruises, and when her mom asked, she'd just say it's because she fell alot.. Which was believable, because she is one of the clumbsiest people in the world. She smiled again at him, tearing herself from her current thoughts, and leaned back into her seat, calm, finally. "I uh.. I'm sorry if I seemed rude over there.. I'm just not having a good day right now.. I found out my ex was cheating on me.. which is why he's my ex now.. God will get him back one of these days.."
She nodded curtly, and then turned her eyes on this... Dallas... She liked Dallas.

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! Dallas gave her a shy charming smile. " Carson...I like it." She looked like her name. Unique. Beautiful....yeah....beautiful was the word. He watched as she nervously regathered herself. Thank god she was just as scared of this meeting as he was. He really didn't want to think badly of her...and he was glad that he had come over...because now he could see that she really wasn't as bad as he was thinking. Of course he only knew her name...but maybe he'd learn more. Yeah...he'd like that. When she gave him the explanation of her tears, his eyes softened. " Any guy who breaks up with you...he's stupid..." Dallas shook her head and gave her a soft smile. " You obviously deserve better." He wasn't trying to flirt...he was just telling her the truth. And he wasn't one to be good at lying.... But now that he thought about it? Why not get to know her? He didn't want to seem like he was trying to get her on the rebound...but she seemed like a very sweet girl who just got herself into the wrong relationship. He'd be willing to get her out...just drive somewhere where she could scream all her troubles away. 'STOP IT DALLAS!' He was planning all these events and he didn't even know if she was willing to see him again...never mind drive mindlessly to god knows where. He looked up at her as he left his one ended conversation within his mind. " You- uh you wanna just go?" He asked kind of nervously. "I mean...I hate to make it sound like rebound date...but you need to go somewhere to get your anger out...I just need to think. I mean..we can just drive...See where we end up..." He looked down at his smoothie and played with the straw. Looking back up at her, he smiled. "I mean you don't have to."

"Say you don't wanna hurt me..." She stared at him, almost hurt by his words.. But then he fixed it with the next few.. Still, she had to speak on the first part.. "no.. I broke up with him.. bastard that he is.." She glared at the thought, and shook her head.. "Well he can't call me now, anyways.. I threw my phone and broke it.." She shook her head, and looked away at him as he looked away from her.. Well Dallas, he seemed like a decent guy already, but then again, she'd thought the same for Kendall. She hated Kendall, now that she forgot about not saying his name, and she would hate every thing about them there was to remember... Them didn't exsist anymore..
At his offer, she perked up, her eyes scanning his face to see if he meant it..
Yep, he did... His eyes didn't lie. She smiled softly, and thought about it, sipping on her shake.. "Well can we walk around for a moment, so I can get my fill of this.. it's too good to just pitch.." She took another sip from the shake, and then looked at him, hoping he'd comply.. It felt weird to think she was fixing to just head off with this guy, who she knew pretty much nothing about.. Now that she looked at him though, it was like she recognized him! "OH! Dallas! I remember now.. total hottie jock of the month, as voted by the cheer squad.. yeah.. you're in my math class.. nice.."
She gave him a grin, and shook her head.. "I'm so sorry I didn't remember you before.. it's stupid of me.. My appologies.. how could I forget you! I mean, as if you don't stand out from most men on this planet... but.. just the way you seem to be.. Wow.. I'm sorry again.. I regret not knowing you before.." She made a sad face at her last words, and then checked her watch, the only thing to keep time that she had left on her... She'd need a new phone.. She'd tell the insurance that she dropped it and it was ran over before she could get it back..
If they wanted proof, she'd send them the busted phone..
"But yeah, seriously, you'd take me out to get my mind off the cheater? That's so sweet, and I'm totally up for it, if you're seriously going to.. I mean, I have money.." She nodded, a whole 50 bucks in her pocket, and even then, Red Lobster (if they're going there at all) wouldn't cost that much money. She pictured just going to a small burger joint or something.. That'd be nice... Leaning back in her seat, she relaxed, sighing.. This had to be one of the best things that had happened to her all day. And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! Dallas felt bad now for thinking he'd dump her. But atleast he was right. He knew that guy would be too stupid to dump her. " Well he's even more stupid for cheating on you." He smiled. " You're better off without him...I can already tell." He wasn't trying to sound pompous. But she just looked more happy than she did when she first walked in here. He nodded. " Sure we can walk around for a b-" He stopped as she realized who he was. He chuckled a bit embarrassed and blushed. Nodding his head, he smiled. "Yeah that's me..." He looked up at him. " Truthfully...I hate it. The cheerleaders I mean...not math class with you." He smiled. "They're all so clingy...every single one of them. And, don't tell her this, but the head cheerleader...She thinks I like her...just because I give her a polite smile after games and all. She actually told one of my mates that she thinks I'll ask her out.." He gave a shiver and laughed. " She sort of scares me a bit." He smiled as she rambled on her apology. " Don't worry about it. I'm not really one to draw attention to myself...it just kind of...happens." He shrugged. But he was glad that she noticed him....because now he had an excuse to talk to her in school or talk to her online. Dallas shook his head. "Of course I'll take you out. It'll be a good break for both of us." He stood up and took his smoothie with me. " As for money....don't worry about it..it's on me" He walked to her and let his hand to her. "C ome on helped her up.

"You don't wanna see my tears..." She shook her head at his story about the head cheerleader.. "Oh, well if she ever comes after you , and I'm anywhere near, just use me as your "new girlfriend" and I'll find someway to keep it up.." Well assuming that she didn't end up crushing on him anyways.. He was so gorgeous, it was hard to think she'd not eventually. "Well, if I don't end up liking you like everyone else does.." She joked, of course, adding a laugh on the end... But she was serious, actually.
Maybe he didn't notice?
Taking his hand, she hopped up with him, throwing her purse over her shoulder.. With the other hand, she pushed off the table, and snatched up her shake, following him. Tossing another glare to his teammates, who were almost shocked by the fact she was holding hands with Dallas, she gave them a grin.. They all made "woah" faces, and one whistled, but she figured Dallas would ignore them.. Oh she could put on a show for them if they wouldn't quit, but she wouldn't do that to Dallas... He was a great guy, and he didn't need any more drama..
Following him out the door, she smiled.. "So, where would we be going, Dallas, that you're so willing to pay for my tab.. I mean, it's not like you have to.." She laughed, though she figured he'd not sway in his decision.. Most guys never did, which drove her plum crazy. She was an independent young woman who was perfectly capable of paying her own bills.. She paid for her own phone, up until she broke it, but that was besides the point... She could take care of her self.. Though she had to admit, it was nice getting treated every now and then..
Plus, all this male attention. It made her feel special..

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! Dallas liked the way she reacted to his head cheerleader issue. He smiled. He might as well play along too. " That's only saying if you really aren't my new girlfriend by then." He gave her a wink and opened the door for her to take her to his truck. Hearing his team again, he glared them down and shook his head with a small smile. He knew they'd be begging to know what happened. Looking down at their intertwined hands, he smiled. He liked the idea of this already. At her question, he shrugged. "I'm not sure yet. We'll just drive...I don't care if we end up in New York City..." He laughed and got to his truck. He opened the door for her, and lent her a hand helping to lift her up onto the step and into the cab. Once she was in, he jogged to his side and got in. Just in time it seemed too because the skies opened almost immediately and rain poured onto the campus. He started the car and turned the heat on low knowing the rain would send a chill through the truck. Pulling out of the parking lot, he took a sip of his smoothie and turned onto the highway. " Do you have to be home any certain time?" He asked. " Because I can't really promise we'll be home before 10..." He laughed. He looked towards her and gave a soft smile....she really was beautiful. Looking back at the road, he kept driving, flipping his wipers on.

"So why are you still standing here?..." She blinked at his response, and smiled.. "Okay.. and I don't have to be home at any time.. it's a weekday in two days... and I can stay at my dorm whenever I want.. plus.. my phone is broke.. so he can't find me.. hehe.." She snickered at that, referring to her dad, and let him help her into the truck.. Thank god, because no sooner did he get in the sky was pouring on them.. He was safe though, with just a few drops.. Seeing one on his cheek, she reached for it, wiping it off.. "For a second, I thougth you were crying.." she added, wiping the drop on her jeans.. Pulling her seatbelt on, she instinctively reached for the dial on his radio, hearing "Sugar" by Flo Rida come on..
She loved that song..
She started dancing along with it in her seat, smirking.. Who said she couldn't have fun while she was at it. She watched the wipers go back and forth for a minute, and then looked over at him, smiling... He was gorgeous! God.. how did she end up from crying minutes ago to running into him, and forgetting all about the bastard who'd had her in a bad mood? Of course she kept thinking about him, but not like she'd been early: in desperation and heart break.
She wanted to just.. reach out and hug this Dallas.. he'd brightened up her day immediately, and even though the sky was pouring, she still felt like she had her own personal sunshine sitting just a foot away.. Close enough to touch.. Oh, now she wanted to touch him? Well talking about bouncing back fast.. She grinned at the thought, and then pouted.. Well she didn' t want him to be just a rebound guy, if she did start to like him, (which was probably too late now to prevent)... but she wanted to like him like him.. for a while..
She smiled at that thought as well, and silently listened to the song...
The drops on the window had a distinct pattern, and she followed them as they went crashing down into the area where the window is when it's rolled down. She pouted, wondering if raindrops got upset when their fall ended.. Well that didn't make any sense, because raindrops didn't have feelings. She inhaled though, and tossed him a sideways glance, resisiting the urge to fill the silence with questions, dying to know more about him.. He was interesting, to say the least...

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! At the gentle touch to his cheek, Dallas was almost tempted to close his eyes. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, and kept his eyes open. He chuckled softly. " You know it's not safe to touch a guy like that when he's driving." he gave her a side smile and winked. Keeping his eyes on the road now, he saw an exit for leaving Washington. He shrugged. Why not? Following the road, he pulled off the exit and let the car take them towards Oregon. He tapped the wheel along with the beats, and hummed the tune. It was a catchy song. He took a peek at her as she danced and let out a low chuckle. She was so adorable. He couldn't help but start falling for her now. It was getting quiet now, considering the only sound was the rain drops hitting the window and teh occasional boom of thunder. He looked towards her. " Why so quiet?" he asked taking another sip of his smoothie. " I'm not afraid of talking...ask away." He said laughing gently.

" Just a watching me drown?..." She felt her eyes get wide when he mentioned she shouldn't touch him like that when he was driving.. Good god.. Her cheeks heated automatically, and she turned the gaze she had on the window, trying to force it away.. What was with her today?! She was such a flirt when she was trying to get over her ex... Well technically, with what she was doing now, it was considered over it, right? Well what about when she went home later tonight? She'd just go back to crying, thinking about it again.. Or maybe, just maybe, she'd think about Dallas, instead of cheater... It's the name he deserves, so why not use it?
She tossed him a look when he suggested asking questions, and then pouted, thinking about what to ask? Well she could go simple, and ask about school.. his major and such.. or she could be complicated, and go for more spiritual stuff, like what he thought about death and such.. Well she figured right now would be easier to ask questions like favorite colors and such.. She nodded to herself, and then looked at him, glad her blush was gone..
"Okay.. what's your favorite food, color, and type of music?" Three questions in one, so it would be faster then one at a time. Plus, it gave her time to think of more questions while he thought about the answers.. She was already thinking while he thought... just to be sure. He may have his shit together, and already know.. She didn't really know him that well, though she learned people rather well after just one night..
She could tell by his body language that he was shy, smart, and a ladies man.. He was also romantic, caring, but definately had a rash side to him when it came to last minute decisions.. he stood up for what was right, and he was very outgoing and athletic when the need came. She liked those things about him. She wondered what he thought about her...
Did he analyse like she did?
And why did she have the urge to reach out and touch him again? Was it the rippling muscle that was bluging from under his clothing? The sweet face... soft looking lips.. deep, dreamy eyes? Oh god, she'd start drooling if she wasn't careful.. She sighed inwardly, thinking about how this night could end, and felt her cheeks heat agian..
She was already gawking at him like she wanted him.. Sheesh!

And remember baby, that I'll always be there to catch you when you fall!~! Dallas thought for a moment. " Hmm...favorite color. Definitely navy blue." He smiled. She'd look pretty in navy blue now that he thought about it. Really pretty. Even prettier than she did now.... 'Stop it Dallas..' He said to himself. He went to her next question. " Food? Oh gosh coach hates the fact that I love to eat. But it would have to be pepperoni pizza with extra cheese." He shrugged. " Sometimes I'm not very healthy."' Music...now that was a tough question. He liked plenty of music. He racked his brain for the perfect answer. " Let's see.." He thought for another moment. " I love classical music...and yet I love the classics. Beatles, Motzart, everything in between." He smiled. " I like a bit of everything."He looked towards her. " Hope those were good enough answers." He smiled at her. " Next?" He asked. He didn't really mind at all that she wanted to get to know him. It was totally ok with him. He wanted to get to know her too. But he'd wait until he was done driving and they were safe from the rain. He wasn't quite sure on her entire being yet, but he had a good gist on what she was like. Definitely shy at first but more open once you got to know her. She had a soft face, very beautiful, but showed emotion very well. As for physically...well he had thought it enough. She was totally beautiful and perfect. Just the right height, her skin was milky white and made her eyes and lips pop from her face. Her hair framed her featuers in just the right angles and her smile took his breath away. Yup....Dallas was certainly falling for him sooner than expected....

" But it's alright, yeah I'll be fine..." She had a few more questions for him. "Uh.. yeah.. if there was one place in the world you would go right now, where would that be?" She waited for his answer, of course, pausing to think of her other questions she had lined out. Like, if there was one thing he could live without, what would it be... and what was he afraid of? She decided those were good questions, and prepared to ask them.
The spike of lightning splitting the sky outside the truck made her jump..
She looked on eagerly again, waiting to see another one, and listened to his answer as he gave it. When he finished, she went on with another.. "Okay.. and.. If you couldn't live without one thing, what would it be.. annnndddd... What aer you afraid of?" She smiled at her thoughtfulness, and waited for his answers.. Was he even scared of anything? She didn't figure, being the fearless sports leader that he was.. He was definately a senior, or he'd not be in her calc class. She blinked her grey eyes at him as he watched her, seeming to think his answers out for a moment. He waited before he answered, and she waited with him..
God he was amazing. She couldn't help but grin at him. She wanted to spend as much time with him as she could tonight, and she wasn't even using him as a get back at Kendall thing.. No.. she was thinking of him more as a close friend, and romance interest. She could just imagine the discussion the boys wold have with him tommorrow at practice. They had practices in the evening... She knew because she'd watched a few times...
That's probably another reason why he was familiar...
